Raspberry Pi has a strong focus on Experience AI, an educational programme offering resources on Artificial Intelligence and machine learning for teachers and students aged 11-14 years old to improve their understanding of AI and about safely using this new technology.

Raspberry Pi’s primary key performance indicator (KPI) was to significantly increase the number and frequency of logins to the AI resource hub. They wanted to make sure students were accessing information such as general terms and references, how AI learns from data, how to solve problems with AI and other useful lessons.

Equally, they wanted teachers to access the teaching material to guide students through these resources to add to this AI education programme and make use of this valuable but disruptive technology.

 

The Approach

Rasperry Pi understood driving their key demographic to the site was important and Google Ads were a a valuable resource in achieving this.

They had been running manual Pay Per Click campaigns in house on Google for some time. But traffic wwas faltering, conversions were dropping and Raspberry Pi knew it was time to their campaigns up a gear. They commissioned Agency51 to consult and pass on their expertise to Raspberry Pi’s inhouse team to lift student traffic, increase teacher logins and generally bring more of the right people to their Experience AI website.

Agency51 immediately recognised automated bidding was going to help. Using historic data the team  gradually increased the use of automation within the account. Agency51 then tested a Maximize Conversions bid strategy in one campaign. Once initial success began to be delivered, Agency51 rolled out automation to the remainder of the campaigns in the account.

 

The Outcomes

The impact of the collaboration between Raspberry Pi and Agency51 went above aand beyond expectations.

The move to automated bidding from manual-based campaigns yielded exceptional results. Traffic and logins initially stopped declining and then began a hockeystick curve. As well as traffic increasing dramatically, the primar KPI was significantly increased.

Given the success of the consultancy work uindertaken, the plan for Raspeberry Pi and Agency51 is to be at the forefront of testing new Google features of Google Ad campaigns and introduce the client to different leading edge approaches. These include the rigorous test of AI Max (a comprehensive suite of targeting and creative features now available in Google Ads) within the search campaigns. Test performance Maximizer Campaign. Additionally, non-Google channels will be explored, for example Microsoft Ads open up another opportunity for growth.
