The Approach
The Just4Pets senior team carried out an assessment of what was available to them. They wanted to select a platform that offered scalability, security and functionality that would help them meet their aggressive targets for online growth.
Based on these criteria, Just4Pets chose BigCommerce as their ecommerce partner. Correspondingly, BigCommerce recommended Agency51 as the ideal partner to implement the solution. Our long track record in the animal sector was of great relevance and BigCommerce knew Agency51 was adept at integration and creative thinking when it came to maximising the potential BigCommerce offered.
Agency51 worked collaboratively with the Just4Pets team to produce a specification of what they needed that was offered out of the box by BigCommerce and what would require custom development. These included features such as subscription offerings, a pick-and-mix basket for dogs (Doodle’s Deli), a powerful search merchandising (Searchandise) a store locator and smart drop shipping, whereby appropriate orders are split off and sent to fulfilment house without the user knowing.

The Outcomes

The ecommerce operation is thoroughly integrated, with EPOS system, SAP ERP and ecommerce all communicating to manage stock and pricing. The site beautifully complements the network of bricks and mortar stores to offer customers all their pet needs wherever they are, at any time of the day or night.
