Writing amazing content is one of the most important things you can do for your website; in order to be successful with your content, you need to know what your audience wants to read.
Offering them valuable advice, insights into the industry’s best-kept secrets or simply sharing a funny anecdote are always ways that you can share content that will be valuable to your audience. You must also make sure that it’s relevant to your niche otherwise people will be very confused if you start talking about puppies if you’re in the car leasing market!
We’ve put together a list of the ways that you can improve your content to make sure it’s as unique and as valuable as possible.
Write engaging and thought-provoking posts
One of the most important aspects of content marketing is making sure that anything you produce is engaging so that your audience is intrigued straight away and wants to read more. Try starting with a question such as “What’s the number one thing you look for in a car?” (if you were writing an article about the best cars on the market, for example).
Include relevant data in your content
By including relevant data in your content such as statistics and figures, you’ll seriously add to your credibility and you’ll not only be rewarded by the likes of Google, but your readers will greatly appreciate your expertise too. When you make a statement, you should try and back it up with relevant evidence so that you cement your authority on the subject even further.
Rewrite an old and/or popular post
Now, obviously you don’t want to completely copy a previous post word for word but repurposing old content can be a great way to put a modernised spin on things. If you wrote a post all about Instagram five years ago, then chances are that most of that information will be severely outdated now due to things like changes in the Instagram algorithm.
Create content from other media
If your website also has media sources such as a YouTube channel or a podcast, you could use specific points and anecdotes from the video to create a transcript. This can then be used as a blog post as some of your audience may prefer to read tips and advice rather than watching a video or listening to a podcast.
Make an infographic
Some readers will prefer to read content that they can easily digest and creating an infographic can be a great way to do this. Instead of having a hefty post crammed full of information, you should consider creating an infographic that includes all of the most important and relevant information without overwhelming your readers.
Create a “series” of posts
More often than not, your audience will want a question answering when they’re searching the internet – you can provide the solution to their problem. By creating a series of posts such as ‘How To’ guides, you will be providing your audience and readers with valuable content that they can look forward to in a series of posts.
